The City of Cypress is a family-oriented community committed to maintaining their attractive and quality environment. Cypress is home to 47,802 residents and is located in the North Western part of Orange County, east of the San Gabriel River Freeway (605), south of the Artesia Freeway (91), and north of the Garden Grove Freeway (22) and San Diego Freeways (405). The City has a very rich and interesting history, dating back to Native Americans, Spanish soldiers, the Gold Rush, farmers and ranchers, the Great Depression, and WWII.
After the city’s 55th birthday in 2011, Cypress has seen many changes and renovations to the community. Original railroad tracks installed by the city have been removed, and the Civic Center has been renovated and expanded, creating six new tennis courts and improvements to the parking lots.
Costco Wholesale moved into Cypress in 2005 to the delight of residents. The community had been eagerly awaiting the opening of the warehouse giant, creating an even more convenient hometown shopping option. Many families choose to call Cypress home because of the city’s emphasis on community.
There are a wide selection of non-profit clubs and organizations like the Boys and Girls Club of Cypress, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Continental Little League Baseball, Cypress Tennis Club, Rotary Club, and the Woman’s Club of Cypress.
