Orange, California (BROADVIEW MORTGAGE) May 6th, 2013
Alessa Jonas, a recipient of Broadview Mortgage’s merit-based scholarship, is running in the 2013 Santa Barbara Wine Country Half Marathon to help fight animal cruelty.
Broadview Scholars are engaged in their local community, receive excellent grades, and are conduits for growth. It is expected that recipients of the scholarship mirror the values of Broadview Mortgage. Alessa won the December, 2012 award and continues to pay it forward.
Currently a third year law student at Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, California, Alessa works for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office and continues to be a source for good in the local community. Her passion for justice is not limited to humans, as she believes that animals should be protected from negligence and harm.
Alessa is running the half-marathon in honor of her dog Jei-Li, whom she rescued from an abusive environment.
To say thank you to Alessa, I’m happy to announce that Broadview Mortgage is donating $500 to her cause so that she can continue to promote community involvement. We are happy to see young people engaged in making the world a better place. Keep up the hard work Alessa!
