Monday, September 22nd, 2014 – Palm Desert, CA – On Thursday, September 11th, 2014 Broadview Mortgage Santa Barbara Branch Manager and Loan Officer, Kelly Marsh, graced the Todd Duncan Sales Mastery 2014 event at the J.W. Marriot in Palm Desert, CA with her presence and shared her recipe to success with 1,500 event attendees. Kelly Marsh was among a headline of keynote speakers and panelists including Sally Hogshead, Tom Ferry, Steve Harney, and Hal Elrod throughout the three and a half days which the event took place. Marsh was featured in a session entitled, “The 12 Minute, $100,000 Speech”, with the objective of providing personal business tips worth $100,000 in just a brief 12 minutes.

Kelly spoke to the fact that she owes her success simply by being true to herself. She is constantly trying to better herself in all aspects of life whether that is through being a better wife, a better mother, or by being a better loan officer. To achieve this, Kelly has her own life coach who guides her to compete with everyone else, and even herself. Inside the office Kelly has a very specific process with three established objectives: to educate, to guide, and to connect. The number one requirement for executing these objectives, Kelly states, is to meet with people face-to-face. The face-to-face meeting allows the borrower to pick up on the loan officer’s authenticity, and allows Kelly as the loan officer to read any facial expressions or body language as she educates. This is the pathway to figure out whether the borrower feels any misunderstanding or discomfort with a certain aspect of the process. By being able to read these social cues during the meeting, she can then guide and put the borrower at ease. Rather than steering the borrower in one direction, Kelly provides options and draws up multiple scenarios, so that ultimately it is the borrower’s decision with regards to how they would like to proceed. Through this, the loan officer and the borrower connect. Kelly also maximizes the efficiency of her time. She has trained her team to ensure that each borrower is prepared with all of the proper documentation required to bring to the appointment, because without the proper information, how can one assess a client’s financial situation? This is Kelly’s methodology for optimizing her time with her borrowers.
Kelly Marsh was recognized in multiple publications this year for her success as a loan officer in 2013. Her honors include, 79th of the Top 200 Mortgage Originators in America 2013 by Mortgage Executive Magazine, and one of the Top Loan Producers of 2013 by both Origination News and Scotsman Guide. Throughout her 16 years in the mortgage industry, Kelly has closed approximately 4,000 loans exceeding $1 billion (Broadview Mortgage Santa Barbara, 2014).
